Fat burning breakfasts should be high in protein, fat and fibre … NOT Sugar, Salt or fortified cardboard mentioning no names… Kelloggs –  (who said that?)

I get asked a lot about when to eat if you’re training, should you workout fasted or not?

And what should you eat before a workout…

Well, it depends.

If you workout before 8am like our early BABEs I would say its depends how you feel, if eating that early makes you feel ill, then go for a large glass of water and have a protein drink and a protein and carb based breakfast as soon as you get home.

I find that if I workout fasted I just don’t have the strength or stamina that I do when I have eaten so I always have something.

If you are working out after 8am like out 9.15am girls then you really should have had breakfast by then!

The key to kick starting your metabolism is a good dose of protein within 30 minutes of waking up, aim for about 30 grams.

Some of the BABEs favourite breakfasts are…

  1. 2-3 large eggs, boiled or stick them in an omelette, or scrambled with smoked salmon for an extra protein boost.
  2. Kippers/mackerel/salmon fillet and salad.
  3. 250g Total Greek Yoghurt, hand full of blueberries and walnuts.
  4. Left overs.
  5. Small handful of porridge oats, 1 scoop Sunwarrior protein, 1 tablespoon crushed walnuts, made with coconut or almond milk.
  6. 1 handful of frozen berries, 1/4 avocado, 1 scoop Sunwarrior protein, 1 big glug of almond milk and water. Blend to make a tasty and filling protein shake.

Kick the Kelloggs to the curb and stay full until lunchtime!
